My name is Autumn Dolbear and I have a twin sister named Maya. My favorite color is purple and I really like elephants right now. Some of my favorite things to do are go to karate class, go on walks outside, and go to school. I really love when we do art at school with sparkles! (Mommy calls the sparkles glitter, but I like to call them sparkles.) I'm a lot like other five year old girls except I have a condition called Chiari Malformation.

Hard Day

My mommy found out today that there is a problem with my blood. My blood doesn't clot the way it is supposed to so the doctor wanted to run some more tests before my surgery. I had to get my blood drawn today and they took so many tubes. Mommy will find out next week if I have to go to Seattle a week early if I have to see a specialist called a Hematologist, a doctor who specializes in diseases or disorders of the blood. I really hope that my tests come out normal. I am tired of having my blood drawn. I get really nervous and scared but my mommy is there for me and makes me feel better.

My Head Hurts

When I was playing with my Nana yesterday, I tried to do some rolls in the grass and it was tons of fun. But all the activity makes my head hurt too much. I am in a karate class but won't be able to go much longer because all the noise also gives me headaches and my mom worries about me hurting my head even more. When I have my surgery, my doctor, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen, says that I can go back to doing karate and gymnastics and playing with all my friends. My surgery is going to be on May 10th and I really need help getting out to Seattle. If you are able please help me and my mommy get there.

One Month To Go

Hello Everyone!
I would like to thank everyone who has been stopping by and reading my story. It means a lot to  me and my mommy that everyone has been so warm and helpful. Tomorrow is one month from my surgery. We are still having trouble getting enough money together to make the trip. Please help spread the word to everyone you know so that I can make it to the surgery to help my Chiari Malformation. Thank you so much for helping me and my mommy get to my surgery!

Not Feeling Well

Today was a rough day for me. A few days ago I got my kindergarten shots and they really hurt. But all day I had a bad headache and my back and arms hurt. Mom had to give me some tylenol so I could go to sleep. I am nervous about my surgery but I know its going to make my headaches better.

Getting to my surgery!

This is a picture from my trip to Seattle to see the doctor. I was really excited because the doctor told me they could make me feel better. My Chiari malformation makes me have Central Sleep Apnea. This makes it very hard for me to get good sleep and makes me cranky a lot of the time. I also get a lot of really bad headaches and pain in my back. Sometimes, I even get pain in my arms and legs because of my Chiari malformation. The doctors at Seattles Children's Hospital will do surgery for me to make me feel better on May 10th. I just have to get there and have somewhere for Mommy to stay. We live in Billings Montana so this is a really big trip for us. Because Maya and I have had so many health problems, Mommy had to quit her job to stay home and take care of us, so we don't have much money to travel with. I really want to have my surgery so I can feel better and but I need some people to help my family out with the travel costs so that we can get to Seattle in time for my surgery. Thank you so much for reading my story and for any donations you may make!!!

I'll keep you posted on how things are going and any new news from the doctors. Thank you, again!
